Canine Cuddle Counselling
Offered at 350 Oxford Street West. London ON
Ages: Teens - Adults

Meet Dixie! Dixie is a 5 year old Lab, Bernese, Golden mix (although most consider her a black lab). Dixie has been part of Ray's family since Dixie was 2 years old. The first two years of her life she was busy preparing to be a professional counselling cuddler!

A Canine Cuddle Counselling session helps clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and more willing to engage in the therapy sessions. Many times, reluctant children and teens will open up when the focus is on Dixie rather than themselves
Animal therapy refers to the use of an animal for their researched ability to lower stress levels, increase willingness to participate in therapeutic interventions, support self-esteem and mood, decrease symptoms of depression, and improve client satisfaction. Additionally, research has shown that animal support can decrease symptoms of traumatic response when processing events in session.

Ray and Dixie the Canine Cuddler offers 50 minute sessions at the Oxford St. location on Thursday evenings. Dixie is a trained, calm and loving dog that works well with children and young adults. Ages: Teens - Adults
